Sandra Millers Younger lost her home, 12 neighbors and almost her own life in the 2003 Cedar Fire, the biggest known wildfire in California history.
With journalism degrees and 30 years of professional experience, Sandra felt compelled to capture the historic Cedar Fire story for posterity. She spent the next 10 years documenting the event. Her resulting 2013 book, "The Fire Outside My Window: A Survivor Tells the True Story of California's Epic Cedar Fire", has been hailed as required reading for residents of wildfire country, adopted as a training text for top-level emergency professionals, and was featured in a 2-hour TV documentary that aired nationwide in the US in 2015 titled Escape: The Great California Fire.Now.
