I Still Want You To Do It (WT700)
In our Mastermind meeting this week, one of the participants was talking about her experience interviewing potential financial planners to help her. We’ll call her Robyn. Robyn’s looking at selling her business in a few years and wants to know the best strategy and timing to maximise her return on her investment and minimise the tax to pay. She shared with me that she had met with three different planners and still could not decide which one to work with. What we discovered was that they had failed to demonstrate to her that they knew what they were doing and that they could help her. Robyn...
What Story Are You Making Up? (WT699)
As humans, we need to make sense of our world and what happens to us. In order to close the loops in our minds we tend to make up stories to explain what’s happening to us. Let me give you an example: Ross and went to the gym and later, over coffee, Ross asked me how I felt on a particular machine at the gym that morning. “Ok”, I said. “Why do you ask?” “You know the settings were different on each side of the machine?” he sort of asked but really told me. “Oh. I just thought my left arm was weaker than my right.” He laughed. “No, the settings were completely different, which caused one arm...
How Do You Feel? (WT698)
How did you wake up today? How do you feel? Thinking I was being funny, when a yoga teacher asked me one time, (very early in the morning), how I felt, I answered that “I didn’t know yet”. I now realise the folly of this type of comment. It’s not funny. I can’t remember which book or program I’ve been working on lately, (I often have multiple going at the same time) but one of them gave me a real wake up call about my language when I start the day. According to the teachings, most of us depend on external cues to decide how the day is going to go for us. Ouch! As an example, say you...
Don’t Do That (WT697)
Last week I shared that I was anxious about going to the gym. I also mentioned that I had been waiting for over a week for someone to call me to book in a training session. Here’s the rest of the story. If you’re in business or customer service, don’t do this: On the day we joined, I asked if someone could show me how to use the equipment. The lady on reception said to go on to the website and book in a session. A few days later I went to the website. I couldn’t see where to book it in. I sent a message through the contact page. I got an automatic reply and a personal reply from the lady on...
Don’t Overthink It (WT696)
Maybe this resonates with you. The alarm went off and I hit the snooze button. I was reluctant to get out of bed. “I’m nervous”, I turned to Ross. “How come?” he asked. Today was the day I was to start going to a new gym. Ross had been going to another one for about a year. I hadn’t been to a gym since we started travelling in the motorhome back in 2019. I was anxious. I had been waiting for a week for a personal trainer to get back to me because I wanted a program and to be shown how to use the equipment. I’m still waiting (that’s another business story). I shared all my insecurities with...
Already Done Already Done (WT695)
This week’s thought is a doozy. Well, I think so. Last weekend Ross was busy working with the referendum so I had the weekend to myself. I planned big things. There was sooooo much I was going to get done. I had a list of jobs I wanted to complete and the weekend came and went and I didn’t tick any off the list. Rather than being disappointed with myself or beating myself up, I was energised and excited. I sat down to read a few chapters of “The Divine Matrix” by Gregg Braden before starting my tasks and well …… Sunday night came and I picked Ross up and raced back inside to read the final...
When You’re In Enough Pain (WT694)
Have you ever bought an online program and then done nothing with it? I have. Plenty of them. Over the past few weeks I’ve been focussing on growing the coaching side of my business. It’s a real passion of mine. I love to see the transformation in people as they grow and evolve and move towards what they want. Years ago, I purchased a program to help me grow my coaching business. I listened to a few of the lessons but couldn’t bring myself to take action. I forgot about the program and thought that my membership had lapsed. That was until, seemingly out of the blue, I started getting...
Just Because You’re Thinking It (WT693)
This morning I awoke in a mood. A bad one. “Don’t talk to me, I’m in a mood”, I snapped at Ross. “I can see that”, he said. We were about to sit down and do our “levels”. This is the term the Silva Method use for relaxing and visualising and manifesting. “I can’t do it. I’m going into the bedroom and do some tapping.” With that I turned, picked up my phone and headed to the room. I know, and I trust you do by now as well, that nothing good comes from being in that state. I know that I have to get myself out of what David Bayer calls the Primal State and into the Powerful State. The Primal...
Down a Long Dark Tunnel (WT692)
I’m so blessed. I have such great people in my life and community. This week I was working with my accountant. I was sharing my desire to travel to South Africa next year to complete the Silva Method Mind Control course again. The training is being held in a game park and it has always been my goal to visit a game park. This would be an amazing experience, combining the two. I expressed a little doubt about how I can manifest this and my awareness that this doubt is what will prevent the manifestation. My accountant surprised me with his response. He said, “It’s like going down a dark...
You Don’t Have to Know (WT691)
This week Ross and I have been enjoying a road trip from Newcastle to Melbourne to Adelaide. We attended a personal development workshop with Kachina Ma’an and I want to share one of the biggest takeaways for me. We were discussing our limitations. We talked about what holds us back. One of those things is a belief or expectation that we have to know, that we have to analyse, that we have to truly understand what stops us from achieving or being what and who we want. In one short sentence, Kachina dispelled that. She said, “You don’t have to know what’s in the garbage to empty it”. Oh boy!...
